One time, I went to my grandfather's funeral, so I was out of town for a few days. When I came home, Beverly, my wife, had put out a big sign or hanging letters, or maybe it was a sign. Now I can't remember, but the important part was that is sad "Welcome Back, Ryan! I missed you! I love you!"
I just remember that is made me really feel loved because I knew she was thinking about me when I was gone. We were still pretty new in terms of being married back then.
It was exciting to come home and realize that she was excited for me to be back rather than what could have been the opposite, as in "Oh, man! I had all this time alone and now it's coming to an end." That was a good thing for me.
